Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP)

As Derbyshire has a two tier system of Local Government, i.e. it has both District / Borough Councils and a County Council, so it has a two tier LSP system. There are Local Strategic Partnerships covering each of the districts and boroughs. Local Strategic Partnerships are led by the Local Authority and made up of organisations that are involved in the delivery of public services - The partners may vary from district to district but generally include the Police, Fire Service, Primary Care Turst (PCT) and of course, the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). They aim to work together to address priorities in a particular area. They hold regular meetings of all the partners and coordinate sub-groups to look at specific issues. These will differ depending on your local priorities.

They all have a 'duty to involve' the voluntary sector and the wider community. They recognise the expertise and local knowledge that local voluntary organisations can offer their strategic planning and policy making. Being part of an LSP is your opportunity to influence public sector services on behalf of your organisation, your beneficiaries or the wider community and voluntary sector. If you are interested to know more about your LSP, contact your local infrastructure support agency or Claire, Voice Project Officer.

In Derbyshire there are 6 LSPs to cover all the boroughs and districts. Click on the name of your LSP to go straight to their webpages
